During their visit to Bahrain between May 8-10, the MÜİSEF delegation consisting of Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul Boynukalın, Director of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Hasan Hacak, Deputy Director, and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Durmuş, Head of the Department of Islamic Economics and Finance, attended the 21st AAAOIFI Annual Shari’ah Boards Conference of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) and met with Sheikh Ebrahim bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AAOIFI.

Our delegation also visited AAOIFI Headquarters and met with Dr. Omar Ansari, Secretary General. The MUSEF delegation also visited the General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) in Bahrain and met with Dr. Abdelilah Belatik, Secretary General, and finally visited the headquarters of the International Islamic Finance Market (IIFM) and met with Dr. Ijlal Ahmed Alvi, Chief Executive Officer.

During the meetings held with the aforementioned institutions, which are among the most important International Islamic Finance Institutions, an agreement was reached to strengthen and expand the existing mutual cooperation between our institutions in academic and sectoral fields and to take it further.
