THE INSTITUTE OF ISLAMIC ECONOMICS AND FINANCE
Student Admission for Graduate Programs in Islamic Economics and Finance for the 2026-2027 Academic Year (Including Lateral Transfer), Quotas, Application Requirements, and General Information
- 1. Candidates applying for Master’s programs must hold a bachelor's degree or be in a position to graduate by July 27, 2026, which is the final registration date for the 2026-2027 Fall Semester.
- 2.Candidates applying for doctoral programs must have graduated from a master's program with thesis.
- 3. Graduates of non-thesis master's programs cannot apply for doctoral programs; however, those who enrolled in non-thesis master's programs before 06/02/2013 and graduated can apply.
- 4. Graduated candidates must submit their graduation certificates, a certified document from their university indicating their graduation date, or a graduation certificate obtained via e-Devlet during the application period. Furthermore, their graduation information must be registered in YÖKSİS. Candidates who are in their senior year (expected to graduate) and applying for Master’s programs must submit a current student certificate and an official transcript showing their CGPA during the application phase instead of a graduation certificate; the graduation certificate must be submitted during final registration.
- 5. The records related to the candidates’ university, their GPA, etc. will be received through YÖKSİS (Higher Education Information System). For this reason, those who do not have YÖKSİS account are required to complete the necessary registration procedures via their University from which they have graduated. Candidates whose records cannot be received through YÖKSİS will not be able to complete their application process. Those who have graduated from a university abroad will personally enter their information to the system themselves. Those who cannot find the name of their university in the system may select the “Abroad (other) university” option.
- 6. The candidates who have graduated from a university abroad must have their grades calculated based on a 4-point or 100-point grading system in their transcript. This calculation will not be done by our university.
- 7. Candidates registered for a thesis-based Master's or Doctoral program at other higher education institutions must cancel their existing registrations before enrolling in our Institute. Except for non-thesis master's programs, it is not possible to enroll in and attend more than one graduate program simultaneously.
- 8. Only one doctoral or thesis-based master's program application can be made in the same semester. However, up to two different non-thesis master's program applications can be made. Candidates applying to two departments must pay attention to the interview dates of the departments they are applying to. Information about interview locations and dates will be announced on our Institute's website.
- 9. Turkish candidates must have a minimum score of 65 from the ALES exam for Doctoral and Islamic Economics and Finance thesis-based Master's programs (Turkish, Arabic, and English), and a minimum score of 55 for the Islamic Insurance program, or an equivalent score from the GRE or GMAT exams. (The results of this exam are valid for 5 (five) years from the date of announcement.)
- 10. There is no requirement for foreign nationals applying for the quota reserved for international students or for the Non-Thesis Master's program to have obtained a certain score from the ALES or an equivalent exam.
- 11. Even if a candidate becomes eligible for final registration by passing the entrance examination or via lateral transfer, the relevant department or the Executive Board of the Institute may decide not to open the program if deemed necessary. In this event, the final registrations of the candidates will be canceled, and tuition fees, if paid, will be refunded; candidates shall have no right to claim any compensation for the semester in which the program is not opened.
- 12. Approved preferences, information, and documents cannot be deleted or changed.
- 13: Even if candidates who provide false information and statements become eligible for final registration, their registration will be canceled if the relevant irregularity is detected subsequently.

Candidates who fail to provide this commitment or do not fulfill their commitment shall forfeit all student rights.
17. Foreign language exams accepted by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) are valid for 5 (five) years from the date they are taken. Candidates who are already registered in the application system and want to change their nationality information must create their requests at https://destek.marmara.edu.tr/ within the application period.
24. Applicants with foreign nationality status will be subject to foreign student tuition fees, and the contribution fee/tuition fees for these applicants will be announced later. Those who fail to prove their possession of a blue card will also be required to pay this fee.
25. For the reserve candidates; After the calculation of ALES, Transcript Grade, Professional Knowledge Assessment, and Interview scores of the applicants to the program, the main list is determined by ranking the successful candidates from the highest score to the lowest, up to the announced quota. Other successful candidates are listed as reserves. Vacancies are announced for registration to fill the places of those who do not register on the definitive registration dates. Reserves listed in the list are pre-registered by receiving applications on the relevant date/dates. This application is for determining the candidates who have the right to definitive registration. Reserves who have not applied for pre-registration, even if their score is high, cannot obtain the registration right. All candidates who have pre-registered with an application form are ranked from highest to lowest in terms of score at the end of the day. A reserve list, up to the number of vacancies, is announced for definitive registration based on the success ranking. Reserve candidates who have gained the right to definitive registration apply to our Institute to complete the registration process on the relevant date/dates. (Since reserve lists will be determined according to the applications, they will be announced on the Institute's website.)
